For more than a decade, SongShift has helped users transfer playlists between music streaming services without starting over.
Along the way, we introduced SongShare, allowing SongShift users to share playlists with friends regardless of which music service they used. That idea showed us something important: playlists should not be limited by the platform where they were created and that users want to be able to share playlists with anyone, without having to switch music services.
Today, we are excited to introduce SongMix, a new app built around that idea.
Your playlists, beyond one music service
SongMix is a place to share playlists, discover what others are listening to, and connect through music without worrying about which streaming service everyone uses.
Connect your preferred music service, bring your playlists into SongMix, and share them with friends using a single link. When someone finds a Mix they love, they can import it into their own music library at their preferred music service.
SongMix supports popular music services including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, and TIDAL.
Create a profile for your music taste
Music says a lot about who we are, and your SongMix profile gives you a place to express it.
Choose an avatar, customize your profile, and pin your favorite Mixes so visitors can immediately see what you have been listening to. Whether you carefully curate every playlist or simply want somewhere to collect the music you love, your profile becomes a home for your Mixes.
Share music with anyone
A great playlist should be easy to pass along.
SongMix lets you share Mixes directly with friends, post them on social media, or feature them on your profile. The person receiving your playlist does not need to use the same streaming service to start listening. Importing any shared Mix into your own music library is just a few taps away.
What this means for SongShift
SongMix is not replacing SongShift.
The best way to truly provide the experience we want for both apps is by letting them live on their own. SongShift will remain focused on being the best way to transfer and synchronize your music between streaming platforms. SongMix takes the sharing experience that began with the SongShare feature and gives it room to grow into something larger: a place centered on Mixes, people, and discovering what to listen to next.
